Remove Xp's Default Games

All of the latest versions of windows have all included a load of free games accessible from the start menu. These include backgammon, pinball, minesweeper and many other timeless classics. In this tutorial I will show you how to remove the default games using XP’s ‘Add or remove programs’ utility.

START

The Removal Process

• Click Start, then control panel (or run then type ‘control’)

• The control panel dialog should load, click on ‘Add or Remove Programs’.

• Another dialog will load labelled ‘Add or Remove Programs’. You should now see a list of all the programs installed on your machine, beside them should be four buttons, click the one saying ‘Add/Remove Windows Components’.

• Again another dialog will load, with a list of Windows components installed on your machine, highlight ‘Accessories and Utilities’ (by clicking it once) then click ‘Details’.

• You should now only see two possible selections, one being ‘Accessories’ the other ‘Games’, beside them there should be check boxes.

• Uncheck the box beside ‘Games’ then click ‘OK’.

• The dialog will close, now click next. Windows will now run a wizard which will remove the games from your system, when it is finished click ‘Finish’ then you may close all dialogs and restart your machine to complete the removal.
